Job Description: The register of wills has jurisdiction of probate of wills and the receiving and filing accounts of executors and administrators. He or she will sit as probate judge to determine contesting wills. They act on behalf of the state to collect inheritance tax. They also have charge of marriage licenses and safe keeping of marriage records.
Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years old.

1. After graduating from law school, I was elected to the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives where I served on the Special Task Force for Probate & Estates enabling me to bring a wide range of experience to the office. Under my tenure, and in an effort to improve upon the excellent reputation the office shares with the public and the Philadelphia Bar Association, the office has debuted a new and one of a kind computer system.
