Job Description: The clerk of the quarter sessions is the administrator of records for criminal proceedings in the trial and family court divisions of the Court of Common Pleas. They are responsible for the collection of city and state fines assessed by the courts and the collection and disbursement of support order money. They are the financial officer in charge of bail funds and the keeper of the confiscated weapons and other evidence submitted in criminal trials.
They must be at least 21 years old.
Term: Four years

As the custodian of the criminal records, I feel that it is imperative to be familiar with the operation and function of the judicial system.

1. I seek to restore accountability and honesty in the Clerk’s office. In audits performed by the City Controller, the Clerk’s office was accused of “not properly administering its petty cash fund” and “did not properly prepare bank reconciliations.” The Controller found that one employee was late 129 days and another 86 days during one calendar year; yet there was no disciplinary action. Under a Featherman Administration, there will be a zero tolerance for repeated lateness.
