Philadelphia, May 2, 2007 — The Philadelphia City Paper has endorsed Mayoral candidate Michael Nutter for Mayor. This marks the sixth media endorsement for Nutter in the last two weeks.
“Throughout his career, Nutter has displayed the integrity to get things right and the intelligence to get things done,” the newspaper wrote in an editorial today.
The City Paper is one of the most widely read weeklies in Pennsylvania. Nutter’s other media endorsements include the Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia magazine, the Northeast Times, The Fallser and the Daily Pennsylvanian.
“The City Paper has long had the pulse of the people, said Nutter. “It is a valuable endorsement and I’m excited about the support that I am receiving from Philadelphia’s media.
In their endorsement of Nutter for Mayor the City Paper editorial also states that “we need the right leader, a leader who can assess challenges honestly and weigh solutions thoughtfully, on who can ruffle feathers, win public arguments and make the right decision most of the time. In short, we need Michael Nutter.”
The momentum in Nutter’s campaign is building each day. Two polls show him in a statistical tie with Tom Knox and financial contributions from supporters has continued to swell with more than $325,000 coming in the last four days of the filing period.
