DWIGHT EVANS ACCEPTS ENDORSEMENTS FROM BROAD GROUP OF PHILADELPHIA ELECTED OFFICIALS

PHILADELPHIA --- Mayoral Candidates Dwight Evans was joined by over a dozen elected officials in his campaign office today to proudly accept endorsements from this broad coalition of supporters. This coalition of state senators, representatives, councilpersons, and other elected officials from across the City represents the depth and breadth of support Evans has received in his campaign for mayor. These elected officials will be a critical component of the election-day operation that will carry “Team Evans” to victory on May 15th. Evans announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination on December 11th before a crowd of more than 1,200 people; his campaign slogan is “A Safer Philadelphia – Block by Block.”

“I am honored that this diverse group of elected officials would voice their support for my campaign,” Evans stated today. “No other candidate in this race has garnered as much support as we have from elected officials at every level of government in Philadelphia. This is indicative not only of the level of support we have received, but it also foreshadows the type of diverse coalitions I will build as Mayor to attack the challenges facing our city.”

Evans has been endorsed by State Senator Anthony Williams, Senator Leanna Washington, Senator Shirley Kitchen, State Representative Michael McGeehan, Representative Tony Payton, Representative Curtis Thomas, Representative Babette Josephs, Representative William Keller, Representative Harold James, Representative James Roebuck, Representative Ronald Waters, Representative Jewell Williams, Representative Cherelle Parker, Representative John Myers, Representative Mark Cohen, Councilwoman Marian Tasco, Councilwoman Donna Reed Miller, Councilman Juan Ramos, Sheriff John Green, and City Commissioner Edgar Howard.
