PHILADELPHIA --- Mayoral candidate Dwight Evans will launch the first leg of his citywide “Do Something!” tour in North Philadelphia from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM on Wednesday, April 18th. Evans announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination on December 11th before a crowd of more than 1,200 people; his campaign slogan is “A Safer Philadelphia – Block by Block.”
The event is the latest in a series of public appearances Evans will make in neighborhoods throughout the city to emphasize that public safety is integral to building a community where education, commerce and culture can thrive. He will meet with community organizations and businesses that are critical partners in the “four-legged” table that is key to rebuilding safe communities: more effective law enforcement, a criminal justice system that is not just a revolving door, quality education and economic opportunities, and community and parental involvement.
