Philadelphia Mayoral Candidate Forum Raises Important Issues for Philadelphia Seniors
PHILADELPHIA, March 20 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- AARP, Philadelphia Association of Senior Service Administrators, Philadelphia Senior Center, and Center in the Park brought together local seniors from across the city on Tuesday at the Philadelphia Senior Center to hear from the Mayoral candidates on issues affecting the senior population in Philadelphia.
The forum gave the candidates an opportunity to speak to seniors about their issues of concern, in particular housing, transportation and other senior services. This forum is the first of two candidate forums sponsored by AARP, the second forum will be held on April 17th at Center in the Park in Germantown.

"It is essential that our next Mayor provide affordable safe housing and an increase in city senior services."
The forum featured State Representative Dwight Evans, Congressman Bob Brady, Tom Knox, Congressman Chaka Fattah, Michael Nutter and Al Taubenberger who fielded audience questions from moderator Willo Carey of WHYY. "This is an exciting and challenging time for our senior community in Philadelphia. This collaboration among our organizations is exciting to see," said Robert Groves, CEO of the Philadelphia Senior Center.
