PHILADELPHIA: Today, Matt McClure, a candidate for the Democratic nomination in the 4th Councilmanic District, filed challenges to the statements of financial interest of two of his opponents, Carol A. Campbell and Curtis Jones. If their filings are found to have “fatal” flaws, the pair could be removed from the May 15th primary ballot. Copies of the already filed petition are attached.
In the filing against Ms. Campbell, it is alleged that she failed to report direct and indirect sources of income as required, including:
It is also alleged that she failed to disclose her officership in Alexandra Consultants, Inc., a for profit limited liability company as required as well as car loan(s) she may have in her name. Genesis IV makes car payments of over $1,300 a month.
In the filing against Mr. Jones, it is alleged that he failed to disclose debts owed and officerships in for-profit entities, including:
McClure, a 4th generation Philadelphian, began his professional career working for the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Washington, DC before returning to Philadelphia to work for then-Mayor Ed Rendell. He is currently an attorney at Ballard Spahr. He and his wife Kelly and their two children continue to live in East Falls.
