Philadelphia, February 13, 2007—Today, the Penn Dems, one of the largest student organizations at the University of Pennsylvania, made their choice for Mayor and Michael Nutter is their man. The Penn Dems, who have more than 2500 members, endorsed Nutter after hearing from three of the mayoral candidates in a forum held last Friday, where each candidate spoke to the students separately and then answered questions.
The Penn Dems cite Nutter’s City Council record as a factor in their endorsement and his accessibility to the students. Nutter has visited the campus three times in the last few 6 months and appeared before the Penn Dems in December 2006.
“As an alumnus of the University, it’s an honor that the Penn Dems have chosen to back my campaign,” said Nutter.” “The Dems are an active student organization, informed, dedicated and able and I look forward to working with them on my campaign.”
The Penn Dems will offer their support to the Nutter campaign in a variety of ways, including writing letters, calling voters and helping to spread the work on how Nutter, the candidate should become Nutter, the Mayor.
