Matt McClure, a candidate for City Council in the 4th Councilmanic District, held an office opening yesterday, Sunday, February 11th. Volunteers, supporters, committee people and community leaders got a chance to tour the recently opened office at 4163 Ridge Avenue. The offices featured a conference room, several offices, and volunteer staging/training areas.
Immediately preceding the office opening, the campaign ran a training session for volunteers who will help gather petition signatures to get McClure on the ballot. The petition period begins tomorrow and runs through March 7th. The volunteers were shown the basics of signature collection and also received instruction from a volunteer attorney on what to look for to avoid possible future legal challenges to signatures by opposing campaigns.
McClure said, “I want to thank all of you who came out today to check out our headquarters, and especially those of you who gave up part of your morning in anticipation of our coming petition drive. I can’t win this alone and every day I am reminded by the actions of people like you that all of Philadelphia really wants new leadership.”
