McClure Announces Candidacy for City Council in Philadelphia’s 4th District

Philadelphia: On Saturday, Matt McClure announced his candidacy for City Council for the 4th Councimanic District. McClure was joined by an energetic group of supporters as he made his announcement from the steps of the first house he and his wife Kelly bought together in East Falls.

“I decided to run for this office to represent the hardworking people in this district, and together to raise our expectations,” said McClure at the announcement. “On May 15th this city is getting the chance it gets every 4 years; the chance to choose its leaders. We can choose to continue to expect the worse or we can choose to select the type of leadership that gives our neighborhood energetic representation, an independent voice and strong leadership.”

McClure, a 4th generation Philadelphian, began his professional career working for then-Mayor Ed Rendell’s office before working for the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Washington, DC. He is currently an attorney at Ballard Spahr. He and his wife Kelly and their two children continue to live in East Falls.

“I am running because I want to bring new blood and new ideas to our municipal government,” closed McClure. “I hope you will join with me as together, we make the change our city needs and its citizens deserve.”
