State Representative Dwight Evans will join Council President Anna Verna, Councilwoman Marian Tasco, and several other Philadelphia leaders to urge the Pennsylvania Senate to swiftly approve House Bill 2420. Representative Evans introduced House Bill 2420 in order to amend the First Class City Home Rule Act to expressly grant Philadelphia the authority to regulate its municipal elections. The measure passed the House 163-26 and now awaits action in the Senate.
