  • 9:00 a.m. SCENIC SCHUYLKILL CENTURY BIKE RIDE: 25 Miles - Quarter Century to Conshohocken 38 Miles - Half Metric Century to Plymouth. This event won the League of American Bicyclists' Century Challenge Award in 1997, and has long been one of the largest organized cycling events in the Delaware valley. This year it will be better than ever! Come out for the ride of your life and be pampered along the way, with breakfast at the start, four fully stocked rest stops en route, and a pizza bash at the finish.   • 9:00 a.m. PAPER MILL PARK (Pike Creek) BIKE RIDE: Rides will be 45-60 miles in distance and avg. pace will be 17-18 mph depending on distance, terrain and weather conditions. This training will be for base maintenance and NOT race pace training. Working on maintaining and increasing endurance, power and aerobic capacity to maintain what we earned in the spring. No one gets dropped as long as they ride within the pace. Good way to prepare for and maybe race. Everyone should call before each ride to assure that it will occur as the weather can dictate whether we go or not. We will always leave from the District Park #1 at the corner of Paper Mill Road (Rt. 72) and Polly Drummond Road. We will wait for everyone and anyone who shows up and is willing to at least hang at the low end of the pace that we are trying to maintain. If you want to just spin on these rides this will be a good opportunity for you since the pace should be such that the small chain ring may be all that is needed MOST of the time.   • 9:00 a.m. FAMILY FRIENDLY BIKE RIDE: Come alone or bring along the loved ones. Depart from Handloff Park (formerly Barksdale Park at the Corner of Casho Mill Rd. and Barksdale Rd.) for approximately 11-miles at 8-10 mph average speed. We'll ride primarily through quiet neighborhoods and also on the Hall Trail in Newark. Terrain will be mostly flat with a few rolls or mild hills. You may also finish at just past 6 miles in order to avoid the rolling section of the ride. Helmets are required. Bring water and equipment to fix a flat tire.
